Autumn Countryside depicts a winding road passing through a richly colored rural landscape. Greca reduces the countryside to a rhythmic arrangement of rolling fields, clustered houses, rounded trees, and distant mountains. Saturated tones of ochre, crimson, pink, orange, and violet capture the abundance of the autumn season, while the curving road draws the eye deep into the composition. Painted in water-mixable oil in June 2017. Signed, dated, and titled on the front and reverse. 

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Virgil Greca is a contemporary painter and sculptor who lives and works in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. His distinctive use of color and instinct for structure reflect his many years as an interior designer and the owner of his own furniture showroom. An avid art collector himself, Greca approaches his work with a practiced eye for composition, form, and beauty.
