Field Landscape by Svend Engelund
An original oil on compoboard depicting a patchwork landscape, built from broad, layered planes of ochre, olive, and earth brown. The composition is structured yet painterly, with visible brushwork and areas of thick impasto.
Signed “SE” to the lower left.
Svend Engelund (1908–2007) was a Danish painter associated with the Bornholm School, known for his expressive landscapes and confident use of color and form.
Presented in a vintage gilt wood frame with a linen liner. The frame shows light wear and surface variation consistent with age, and the board and paint surface show minor irregularities from the artist’s hand.
