Description
Banana Brunch, Rajiv Surendra.
A study of form and tonal value. On the left is the preliminary shape and block-in of the major lights and shadows with color tests below. On the right is the full attempt using the notes from the block-in. Part of a series of a banana bunch that was painted over the course of a week. One banana was consumed between each study.

Rajiv Surendra holds a degree in Fine Art History from the University of Toronto and studies drawing and painting at the Art Student's League and the Florence Academy of Art. His studies in watercolor and oil are all painted from life and explore the theme of transition in the everyday. He lives in New York City.
