Since ancient times, beads have been a treasured part of African culture. Rich in symbolism and meaning, they’re crafted in every corner of the continent from all kinds of natural materials and have been used for everything from jewelry to artwork to currency. Following in this heritage, our African White Bead Necklace was made in Kenya by local artisans. Each bead is individually hand-carved from recycled cow bone and reinforced with a wood core. After polishing, they are strung onto textural strand of jute twine to create this one-of-a-kind beauty. Perfect as a global chic accessory, we also love it as an artful addition to a coffee table display.
