Following in India’s rich textile heritage, this effortlessly chic layer comes to us from a small rural village near the city of Jaipur, where it was handcrafted from start to finish by a small cooperative of skilled local artisans. This work helps these craft communities to preserve their culture’s time-honored traditions while also earning a livable wage to support themselves and their families. The process starts with linen thread, which is handwoven on a traditional loom to create a soft fabric. This fabric is then expertly block-printed by hand, creating simple blue and white stripes overlaid with bold red and blue florals. Finally, it’s finished off with a hidden zipper closure and a luxe down and feather pillow insert for a plush feel. A lovely addition to any sofa, chair or bed, we love Sameera on its own or styled with other global-inspired prints for a well-traveled, collected aesthetic.
