Inspired by 19th-century pottery designs, our Astier de Villatte Octave Box was handmade in the brand’s historic Paris workshop using black terracotta clay sourced from the Paris Basin and handcarved plaster molds — a slow-paced, traditional method that gives each piece its own unique charm. Once formed into shape, it’s coated in Astier’s signature milky white glaze, which lets hints of that natural clay color peek through for a perfectly imperfect feel. With its simple, faceted silhouette and bright, fresh hue, this lidded jar makes a pretty and practical addition to any room of the house. Keep it on the powder room counter or dressing table for storing personal care items; on the desktop for corralling pushpins and paperclips; or on the living room side table as an elegant candy dish.
