Longing for the open waters? Embrace your inner seafarer with our French Sailboat at Night Tray. We created this JH exclusive in collaboration with renowned designer and artist John Derian, who, since 1989, has delighted decor enthusiasts everywhere with handmade decoupaged goods crafted from his expansive collection of curious 18th and 19th century images. Inspired by Derian’s process and our own love for all things vintage, we sourced the charming moonlit seascape featured here from the personal collection of our very own Chief Creative Officer, Devin Kirk. “I scored this painting years ago at Paris’ iconic Porte de Vanves flea market and it’s been a favorite of mine ever since,” he shares. “If you look closely, there’s a sweet man in the moon!” Derian and his skilled team of artisans have expertly reproduced this beloved one-of-a-kind find under handblown glass in his NYC studio, creating a beautiful decoupaged dish that captures every brushstroke and unique characteristic of the original artwork. Right at home hanging on the wall amongst other vintage works (or fellow pieces from the JH x JD collection!), this tray would also make a lovely addition to a tabletop vignette, where it can stand alone or act as a catchall for all manner of items.
